Actor Mitchell Ryan, best known for the first film in the “Lethal Weapon” series and the sitcom “Dharma & Greg,” has died. He died of heart failure at home in Los Angeles on Friday at the age of 88, his stepdaughter Denise Freed said with The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
How do we know Mitchell Ryan?
Ryan has been an actor for more than 50 years. In “Lethal Weapon” he was a general turned heroin smuggler. He was also seen in “Dharma & Greg” in the 90s, where he played the wealthy and eccentric father of the main character Greg.
He had a drinking problem
He also starred in the soap opera Dark Shadows. But not for long: the producers threw him out of the show because of his alcohol problems.
