The Ministry of Health and Population called on citizens to maintain health, while quitting smoking, as the Ministry of Health and Population had warned of the risks of exposure of non-smokers to the products of combustion of smokers’ tobacco, which turns them into negative addicts.
The ministry explained that the smoke from smokers exposes both the smoker and the non-smoker to its harm, as it causes lung cancer for non-smokers, and increases the risk of coronary heart disease.
The ministry added that passive smoking causes 100,000 premature deaths annually from non-smokers, including men, women and children, explaining that tobacco smoke contains more than thousands of known chemicals, including 40 substances that cause cancer.
