The first signs of aging appear on the skin. First there are the wrinkles at the corner of the eyes, on the forehead, around the lips. After the quarantine, the skin becomes less elastic, finer, brown spots are formed. Finding the skin of your 20s, the prospect is a dream. But are anti-wrinkle creams really effective?

The most radical way to repair the effects of time remains aesthetic medicine, which is experiencing unprecedented growth. To achieve this, you no longer need to go through the lifting box. Techniques for concealing one’s age abound. Injections of botox or hyaluronic acid, peeling… Which methods have proven themselves and are they risk-free?

Anti-aging medicine is not limited to the visible signs, it also promises to rejuvenate your body. In its therapeutic arsenal, it offers hormonal treatments (DHEA, growth hormone, omega-3 treatment, etc.) to obtain beneficial effects on form, physical performance, mood and libido. But this supplementation is far from unanimous in the medical profession.

Finally, there are serious avenues of research in the field of anti-aging. The greatest hope lies in the telomeres. These structures which protect the end of our chromosomes, would contain the secret of an eternal or prolonged youth.

From anti-wrinkle creams to cell regeneration in the laboratory, an investigation into the promises and excesses of this quest for eternal youth. Yan Di Meglio’s documentary will be followed by a debate moderated by Marina Carrère-d’Encausse.
