Health pass. Bruno Le Maire wants “flexibility” for teenagers

Adolescents, still rare to be vaccinated against Covid-19, deserve flexibility in front of extension of the health pass, which will become mandatory this summer in many shops and transport, ruled Tuesday July 13 Bruno the Mayor, Economy Minister.

Let’s be flexible and understanding for teenagers, asked the minister on France Info, the day after the announcement of new health restrictions by Emmanuel Macron, The head of state.

The health pass, which testifies that a person is not a priori affected by Covid-19, will in particular become mandatory at the end of July to enter places of culture of more than 50 people, like many cinemas. Above all, the measure will be extended at the beginning of August to a large number of cases: restaurants, shopping centers, long journeys by train or bus, etc.

12-18 year olds affected by the health pass

The pass will be requested from the age of 12. However, the 12-18 year olds are still few to be vaccinated, because they have been entitled to it only since the end of June and must receive vaccines in two doses: Pfizer and Moderna. This brings the minimum time between the first dose and effective vaccination to nearly a month and a half.

I plead for children aged 12, 13, 14, who are now included in the health pass, to show flexibility in the implementation, understanding, said Mr. Le Maire.

However, he recalled that you can get a health pass without being vaccinated. For this, you must have a negative PCR test, or a certificate proving that you have already been infected with Covid-19 in the past and that you are therefore immune.

From the fall, however, PCR tests will no longer be systematically free, as is currently the case.
