Health launches a polio vaccination campaign for newborns from January 2016 to March 2018

The Ministry of Health launched a new national campaign to vaccinate against polio, targeting newborns from January 1, 2016 to March 22, 2018. The Ministry said that mothers are requested to bring a birth certificate and to wear a medical mask when vaccinating. They also stressed the importance of having facilities and one with the child to prevent crowding out. Until the vaccinations are available in health offices.

It is noteworthy that the campaign aims to vaccinate against the new polio for 6 million children as it aims to prevent the risk of 15 types of diseases. It also allows foreign children to be vaccinated and to be vaccinated by injection and not doses of oral taste, and that vaccination is carried out by injection of Molecular Molecules in two doses separated by a month.

It is noteworthy that the last case of polio was recorded in Egypt in 2004, and the World Health Organization announced that Egypt is free of the disease in 2006, and despite this the Ministry of Health and Population implements annual national campaigns to raise the immune status of children under five years and to raise immunity between Non-Egyptian children from countries where poliovirus is circulating, in order to keep Egypt free from disease.
