Health in Jalisco: Children’s vaccination day begins in the Benito Juárez Auditorium

The Vaccination Macromodule in the Benito Juárez Auditorium in Zapopan was transformed this Friday to receive minors so that they comply with their scheme according to their age in the vaccination card.

“This occasion is a good opportunity for children to be vaccinated without the risk of being infected with COVID”

The intensive vaccination day for children called by the Ministry of Health under the “Vaccine Route” strategy, was accepted by mothers and fathers.

Mavel Macías Jiménez, 31, attended with her daughter Vania Itzel, 2 years and 9 months old, to receive the influenza vaccine, since she was the only one missing to complete her vaccination schedule.

“This occasion is a good opportunity for children to be vaccinated without any risk of being infected with COVID-19, since it is a very large place where there are no crowds,” said the mother of the family.

For his part, Sergio Sandoval, 31, attended the metropolitan macromodule accompanied by his five children, who received immunization against influenza and the youngest of 2 years, who was brought up to date on his missing vaccines.

“It is a perfect place, spacious and with a very good organization where it takes less time than in any health center. We received prompt, organized, and well-formed care,” he explained.

In the metropolitan macromodule installed in the Benito Juárez auditorium, vaccines are applied such as:

  • Hexavalent to babies 2, 4, 6 and 18 months of age, as appropriate.
  • Rotavirus for boys and girls between 2 and 4 months of age (only for those in this age range).
  • Pneumococcus from 2, 4 and 12 months of age and the triple viral or SRP (against measles, rubella and mumps) to those who are 1 year old. If the age range has passed and the vaccine has not been applied, but the girl or boy is under 5 years of age, that application can be recovered, except for the rotavirus vaccine.
  • Measles, rubella and mumps in children between 6 and 9 years old.

Likewise, corresponding to the winter season of immunization against influenza for children between 6 months and 4 years 11 months of age, pregnant women, people over 60 years of age and people with a chronic disease.

This Saturday, February 26, from 08:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., they will only continue the application of vaccines to children and older adults for influenza in the Auditorium.
