Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – In order to now set the course for future day care for children in Hesse in Corona, the Verdi union is calling for a day-care summit to be convened by the state. The Hessian daycare centers now need reliable future planning, union secretary Kristin Ideler said on Monday in Frankfurt. “There must be more specialists in the facilities and the daycare system needs more money without increasing the burden on the municipalities.” At a day care center summit, the country should enter into a dialogue with social partners and parents’ representatives as well as various interest groups.
Verdi is looking forward to the further opening of the Hessian daycare centers from Tuesday “with mixed feelings”. The so-called extended regular operation is not a real opening. “We see it as an emergency operation with new criteria.”
After a long forced corona break, the Hessian daycare centers open again for more children. However, there is still only limited care. Primary school students from grades 1 to 3 also return to schools – also only for limited tuition.
