He added that 2300 medical services will be provided to the beneficiaries of the comprehensive health insurance system in Ismailia, and that the services of the new project will be provided through 66 facilities, including “12 hospitals, 20 health centers, 34 health units”, in line with the directions of the political leadership and the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 in Providing services and integrated health care and achieving universal health coverage for all Egyptians through the new comprehensive health insurance project with the highest international quality and without discrimination.

He added that the medical services package provided by the General Organization for Comprehensive Health Insurance to the beneficiaries covers all the needs of patients, including surgical intervention, analysis, radiology, tumor treatment, organ transplantation, prosthetic devices, visual and audio aids, dental treatment, therapeutic food, and other supplements, according to the latest treatment methods and internationally approved medicines Also, there is no ceiling for spending on providing medical services to patients in the new system, rather it allows travel abroad for those who cannot be treated in Egypt, and the state treasury bears the contributions of those who are unable and the most needy.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky pointed out that the trial operation phase of the new system in Ismailia includes the operation of 22 health centers and units, and 3 hospitals, through which all services and health care are provided to the beneficiaries of the services of the new system in accordance with the latest international standards for the beneficiaries of the governorate, and Ismailia Governorate is the highest of the governorates in the registration system. He continued, that Ismailia Governorate, the first governorate of the new comprehensive health insurance, has broken the one million mark in registering citizens of the governorate with the new system, as the total number of citizens registered in the system has reached more than one million and 130 thousand citizens so far, as well as more than 250 thousand family files for citizens have been opened. The rate of registration in the system reached 83.5% of the total population in the governorate, who numbered 1,370,806.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky confirmed that the three hospitals have been developed and upgraded for the trial operation phase of the new system in Ismailia, and they are the Ismailia Medical Complex, the 30 June International Center for Nephrology and Urology, as well as the Abu Khalifa Emergency Hospital for specialized surgeries according to the control and quality standards of the comprehensive health insurance system.
