Health announces examining 500,000 women as part of the President’s initiative to support maternal and fetal health

Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, revealed that: An integrated system was equipped to detect diseases transmitted from mother to fetus at a cost of 31 million pounds, noting that the cost of operating, medical supplies and reagents amounted to 30 million pounds, and a total cost of the initiative amounted to 112 million pounds.

In statements to her today, the Minister of Health clarified that the initiative aims to screen 2.5 million women annually, and protect 2.5 million children from hepatitis B diseases, syphilis bacteria, andHIV And reducing the transmission rates from mother to fetus from 45% to only 2%.

The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that 12 million women over the age of 18 have been examined as part of the President’s initiative to support the health of Syrian women.

Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, said that nearly 3,000 women with breast cancer have been monitored and treated, in addition to providing awareness to female visitors to the initiative on how to self-examination and reproductive health at a cost of 610 million pounds.

Dr. Hala Zayed said that the initiative was implemented through 3538 primary health units nationwide, 112 advanced examination hospitals, 85 diagnostic X-ray machines and 28 specialized treatment centers, and the number of working teams in the initiative reached 4,098.
