Health and the autonomies agree to prohibit smoking in the street and the closure of nightclubs throughout Spain | Society

The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has discussed with the autonomous communities the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in an extraordinary meeting of the Interritorial Council of the National Health System this Friday. At the meeting, eleven measures covering seven areas, three recommendations and one indication have been approved “unanimously”. “For the first time, coordinated actions in Public Health have been approved for the benefit of all the autonomous communities”The minister stressed before detailing the battery of measures, some of which were carried out by Cadena SER.

Salvador Illa has congratulated the elderly for his “exemplary behavior” and “strict compliance with the measures” and has been directed especially at young people, since some of the demands approved this Friday “affect them more directly.” These rules will be made effective when the autonomous communities can transpose them into their legislation, “starting with the order to be shipped today.”

Nightlife

In the first place, the closure of discos, cocktail bars and dance halls with or without live music throughout the territory of Spain. In addition, in the hotel and restaurant establishments it will be necessary to guarantee minimum distance between tables of one and a half meters with a maximum of 10 people per group. The closing will be at the latest at 1.00 in the morning, without being able to admit new customers after 12.00.

Smoking in the street

As Galicia, the Canary Islands and Melilla had already adopted, it will be no smoking in the street and on the terraces if the interpersonal distance of two meters cannot be guaranteed.

Socio-sanitary centers

Regarding the socio-sanitary centers, considering PCR testing of all new admissions 72 hours in advance. It will also be done to employees who return from leave and vacations, and to new workers who join.
