What happened to actor Wade Williams, who played the head guard of the penitentiary in the series “Prison Break”?
Brad Bellick is part of the soul of the Prison Break series. He was THE villain par excellence, the one feared as much by the heroes Michael and Lincoln as by the spectators. Bellick is the captain of the guards at Fox River Prison. At the start of the series, we learn that he is known for his heavy-handed methods and it is rumored among prisoners that he is corrupt.
The dangerous and violent Bellick is played in the series by Wade Williams, an actor with broad shoulders and a naturally closed face, who has the nuances necessary to instill emotion when necessary. His character will go from head prison guard to FBI agent (season 2), then prisoner (season 3) and finally fugitive (finally like Michael and Lincoln in season 1).
And since “Prison Break”?

During the 4th season, after a journey of redemption, Bellick sacrifices himself so that his friends (and former enemies) can escape, and dies by drowning.
Before the series, Wade Williams began his career during the second half of the 90s in series like New York Police Blues, Emergencies or Les Dessous de Palm Beach and in the cinema, he appeared in the biopic Erin Brockovich or the comedy From what planet are you coming? He then continued his path on the small screen by appearing in Walker, Texas Ranger, X-Files, Charmed, Six Feet Under and two episodes of the series Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise.
Shortly after his brief appearance in Michael Mann’s Collateral, he was cast in Prison Break, and starred in 62 episodes and four seasons of the series. But once his last scenes were completed, his career did not take off. In 2010, however, he managed to reach the headliner of Paul Epstein’s The Last Harbor, a thriller in which he plays a police officer who returns to his hometown and investigates the disappearance of a young girl.
For the world, there remains Bellick

After The Good Doctor (2011), Williams was hired, almost as a wink, to play a Blackgate prison guard in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Still in the Batman universe, he voices Harvey Dent / Double Face in the animated adaptation of the comics The Dark Knight Returns.
And after DC, it was Marvel which gave him the role of a… prison guard in Venom with Tom Hardy. The same year, he was the captain in Darkest Minds: Rebellion and joined in 2022 the western The Last Manhunt. However, it is on television that we always find him, as a guest, in the series Blacklist, Westworld, Elementary or Cowboy Bebop. As of this writing, Williams has not toured since 2022.
