He strangled me with a pillow and beat me, says Zverev’s ex-girlfriend. The tennis player denies guilt

German tennis player Alexander Zverev denied his ex-girlfriend’s claim that he had committed domestic violence against her.

The seventh player in the world rankings reacted to the statements of the Russian Olga Sharypova, which she stated on the instagram and then confirmed them for the Russian website Championat.

Sharypova said, among other things, that Zverev had suffocated her with a pillow and hit her head against a wall before last year’s US Open in a New York hotel. The former Russian tennis player claimed to have been worried about her life at the time.

Twenty-three-year-old Zverev, who has known Sharypova since childhood, denied her allegations. “I am very sorry that they are making such statements. Because these accusations are simply not true,” the recent winner of two tournaments in Cologne said on Twitter.

“We had a relationship, but it ended a long time ago. I don’t know why Olga says something like that now. I hope we can treat each other again in a sensible and polite way.”

In the same statement on the social network, on the other hand, Zverev confirmed to the media that he would be a father. The model Brenda Pate is expecting a child with him, with whom he broke up in August.
