A father and his partner were accused of murdering their 8-year-old daughter for having wet the bed. The case occurred in Minnesota, United States. According to early indications, Autumn Hallow’s body was found severely emaciated after Elk River, Minnesota police responded to a complaint that the minor was unconscious in the bathtub.

According to the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, upon arriving at a complex on the south side of the Elk River, Officers found Autumn’s stepmother, Sarah Hallow, 28, performing compressions on the girl’s chest, who according to officers appeared “extremely frail and thin.”

According to investigators, he likely died some time before the police received the call, depending on the condition of his body.

Sarah Hallow and Brett Hallow, 30, were arrested and charged with one count of murder in the second degree and murder in the first degree. The couple is being held without bail, according to People magazine.

Brett Hallow, meanwhile, told officers that he woke up to Sarah’s screaming and found Autumn lying next to her on the floor.

The six-year-old counted that her parents had used a brown belt to tie Autumn up and put her in a red sleeping bag, which they moved to different rooms or to the bathtub. She said they tied her up every time she misbehaved or wet the bed.

The complaint also describes that the boy heard a loud bang coming from the bathroom the same morning Autumn was found dead, when Sarah and Brett were in the bathroom with her. He also claims that he saw blood in the bathroom and saw that Autumn was not breathing.

The parents denied all of their children’s accusations. Sarah denied yelling at Autumn, holding her, or putting her in the sleeping bag. Brett also denied the allegations set forth in the complaint.

Autumn’s biological mother, Kelsey Kruse, said the couple had not allowed her to see their daughter for several months out of concern about the coronavirus.
