He had fulfilled his dream of dying as a martyr, said the widow of the murdered physicist

“He wanted to die a martyr’s death, and his wish came true. But thousands of others will follow in his footsteps, “said an unnamed widow of a nuclear scientist on Iranian state television, according to the British server The Daily Mail.

The murdered physicist received a farewell to state honors on Saturday. His body was displayed in one of Tehran’s mosques in a coffin wrapped in the Iranian flag. Iranian Justice Minister Ibrahim Rajsi prayed with her, and other top officials promised revenge to Israel.

Israel does not comment on its foreign actions

The Jewish state did not claim responsibility or comment. But in cases where he destroys dangerous targets abroad for him, he never does. And Iran’s nuclear program and its agents are undoubtedly a target for Israelis. They are therefore credited with the murders of several Iranian nuclear experts in the past, although the evidence is lacking.

The attack on the car with the scientist and his bodyguard took place on Friday in the city of Ábsard east of Tehran. Witnesses first heard the explosion and then the shooting. In addition to Fachrizadeh, his bodyguards were wounded.

The scientist succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. Pictures of the Nissan with its windshield, as well as bloodstains around it, appeared on social networks. The AP agency wrote that the attack bore the hallmarks of a carefully planned military-style assault.

In response to the attack, Iran called on the UN Security Council to condemn the murder and take action against the perpetrators. The Iranian envoy to the UN also pointed out that Tehran reserves the right to take “all necessary measures”.

In addition, Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has threatened retaliation, adding that work on the nuclear program will continue.

Iranian President Hassan Blasphane has accused the United States and Israel of the crime. “The ruthless hands of global arrogance, whose mercenary is the usurping Zionist regime, are stained with the blood of the nation’s son,” Rúhan said in a statement released by his office. Iranian politicians use the term “global arrogance” for the United States and the term “usurping Zionist regime” for Israel.

Fachrizadeh’s death could provoke a confrontation between Iran and its opponents in the last weeks of the government of US President Donald Trump, Reuters reported.
