CHIERI. The owner of that farmhouse in Strada Pecetto in Chieri had gone on vacation, leaving her 16 dogs and three cats alone. All locked in a room, with a single door and a window with bars to prevent them from escaping. A full-fledged prison. To call the zoophile guards and the carabinieri was a woman, attracted by the complaints of those poor animals. Crushed and forced to stay in a few square meters, in a carpet of feces and urine. When the military and the volunteers of the animal protection associations saw the destruction, they immediately went in search of the owner. Reached on the phone, she justified herself by saying that she had left the responsibility of bringing food to her puppies to an acquaintance. Obviously, it was not enough to avoid a complaint for mistreatment.
The dogs (labradors, German shepherds and mestizos without microchips and some injured) were released and fed by volunteers, then transferred to the Chieri kennel and other reception points in the province. They are better now and will be put up for adoption.
The Lida di Chieri also moved on the topic, sending a request to the carabinieri themselves offering to follow the kittens. In fact, while the dogs have all been placed in shelters, the work for cats is more complex: «They are undernourished – they explain from the association -, as far as we know among the three there is a black female, nursing and very undernourished.
