Alfred Pleyers was born under a lucky star. This Dalhemois, well known for having notably worked for Elan Dalhem, one of the local football clubs, can also count on a united family. And above all reactive. Friday morning, when his house was ravaged by fire, it was Damien Mathonet, one of his grandsons, who saved him from the flames.
“It was more or less 7.40 am,” says the 33-year-old young man. “I saw black smoke above the house next door, that of my grandpa. Then everything accelerated. I put my shoes on and ran to his home. ” It was very close. Very little, even.
