How does the HCD get back on track? Can the record champion sweep up the shards from last season? What happens in the Landwassertal in the first year after the Arno Del Curto era? For MySports, author Martin Masafret and producer Sven Schoch are close. Very close. This project distances itself from the now common trivial presence reports from some cabins. “For the comprehensive seasonal theme, we were looking for something that offers more than just a look in a wardrobe,” says MySports editor-in-chief Toby Stüssi. Around 20 days of shooting were necessary to realize the project. “The presence of our team was quickly no longer an issue, that’s the greatest compliment for us.”

The MySports crew takes the viewer on a journey that begins in the preparation phase and ends with the last siren. At least in the script, it was like this until the corona virus plunged into collective memory and brought the whole thing to an abrupt end. Until then, the viewer is spoiled with anecdotes for around 75 minutes, sports manager Raeto Raffainer is closely tied to his heels, listening to the coach Wohlwend and his speeches in astonishment. You can see how Magnus Nygren handles a bad knee injury and prick up his ears when Captain Andres Ambühl explains during the test phase in the summer that “it doesn’t help if someone is the best at the Velotest, but can’t play a straight pass on the ice. »

The most intimate insights are obtained from Dino Wieser. The now 30-year-old warhorse shows his vulnerable side in summer, when he is carried by the group and overcomes his fear of heights and climbs through a steep mountain wall. “After that I was totally done,” says Wieser. “I often go on tours or go hiking, but I always stay away from abysses.” Another player who is also afraid of heights has also overcome himself in the care of the group. “Since then I’ve had an even closer relationship with him.” Dino Wieser catches a concussion in the course of the documentation. Not the first. A process is started. Thoughts about the future and life after sports. «I still didn’t feel well during February, but maybe that was also the psychological effect after the trauma. In the meantime I’m back on the dam. » He is thinking of starting a construction school at the next opportunity. «Now there is enough time for relaxation and training with the team. If everything goes right, I can attack again in autumn. »

In a Hollywood production, Dino Wieser would have set the final high point with a fabulous comeback. In corona reality, he spends time in a mountain hut and wanders through nature. In the MySports documentary, HCD sports director Raffainer has the final say: “Shutdown of the league, no more games.”
