JAKARTA Having sex regularly can help prevent flu . A general practitioner who focuses on men’s health, Dr Jeff Foster explains that having sex sex have benefits, especially with age.

When it comes to health, many people focus on things like diet and exercise. Yet sex life can make a huge contribution to overall health and well-being.

“Sex is important for physical and mental well-being,” said Dr Foster.

Physically, having sex releases endorphins, keeping the vascular, muscular, and neurological control of the sexual organs intact and healthy.

“Mentally, it helps partners maintain a deeper emotional bond, can relieve stress and help you sleep,” explains Dr Foster.

One study found those who had sex regularly had higher levels of immunoglobulin A antibodies compared to people who had sex less than once a week.

Immunoglobin A is considered a powerful defense against colds and flu. In addition to preventing the flu, frequent sex is also evidence that men have a healthy heart.

“From a cardiovascular point of view, that means the arteries in the penis don’t constrict with cholesterol deposits and harden due to high blood pressure,” says Dr. Foster.
