It is a “Larzac des rivières” which, three decades ago, took place in Haute-Loire. Faced with the project to create a dam on the Serre-de-la-Fare site, not far from Solignac-sur-Loire, a significant mobilization of environmentalists was formed. In 1986, the year in which the Epala (public establishment for the development of the Loire and its tributaries) officially launched the project, the protest was structured around the SOS Loire Vivante committee, supported by the WWF (World Wide Fund).
