Hatice Bengi from the couple who lived in Istanbul moved to her father’s house in Dörtyol district of Hatay by opening a divorce case 2 years ago when she could not bear the violence of her husband any more. Bengi, who withdrew the divorce case upon the intervention of families, complained about Hüseyin Bengi in 2019, as violence and threats continued. Explaining that Hüseyin Bengi was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months in prison, and released after a 10-day stay in Silivri Prison, Hatice Bengi said that she had withdrawn the divorce case that she opened at that time due to the intervention of her relatives.

Later, Hatice Bengi, who was exposed to violence again and again, expressed that she was afraid of her husband and that she should be arrested and asked for help by sharing on social media. Bengi, who was recently subjected to violence by her husband on the night of July 28, was taken under protection after her treatment at the hospital, while Hüseyin Bengi, who was detained upon her complaint, was released pending trial.

Hüseyin Bengi, who was tried without arrest, was taken to the Sentry Court at the request of the public prosecutor today. Bengi, who was on trial for the alleged violence of his wife for many years, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
