Hasselblad is launching its smallest medium format camera to date

Hasselblad has launched a new medium format mirrorless camera. The model 907X 50C is reportedly the smallest Hasselblad camera of its kind to date. The body is compatible with lenses from the X system and a selection of lenses from Hasselblad’s V, H and XPan systems via the adapter. Lenses from some third-party providers can also be attached to the 907X 50C.

The camera has a medium format CMOS sensor with 50 megapixels. Other features include:

  • 14 levels of dynamic range

  • Internal battery compartment with the option of charging the camera via USB-C connection

  • Two UHS-II SD card slots

  • Audio input and output

  • Wi-Fi connectivity and USB-C port

  • Recordings for images in 16-bit raw and full resolution for JPEGs

  • Videos 2,7 Kilobyte (2720 x 1530) und Full HD (1920 x 1080)

According to Hasselblad, the digital back of the camera (model designation CFV II 50C) is also compatible with camera models of the V-System from 1957 and can be used with some third-party devices. There is a 3.2-inch tiltable touchscreen on the back. The back and body together weigh 740 grams – 200 grams for the camera housing and 540 grams for the back. The camera, like the V-System devices, takes photos at waist level.

The 907X 50C is available immediately. The RRP is 6995 francs. Users can also combine the new model with the 907X handle and the 907X optical viewfinder. Both products are already available at an RRP of CHF 895 and CHF 595 respectively.
