“We have been notified that a paraglider may have had a problem in connection with a flight from Heian in Elnesvågen,” the police operations manager in Møre og Romsdal announced on Tuesday at 20.33.
It was private individuals in the area who had seen that the person in question had gone down very quickly, before the paraglider disappeared from sight.
– Whether this is a controlled crash flight or not, is currently uncertain, but we are working to get it clarified, said operations manager Leif Arne Mork to Rbnett at 20.43.
Shortly after 9 pm, they started searching by air ambulance in the area. Around 10 pm, this was completed.
– We have come into contact with a person who has flown with paragliders in the area. The person in question is sitting at home and feeling just fine. According to him, he had full control during the flight. The time and description agree with the observations that were made, so we therefore end the search, says operations manager Leif Arne Mork to Rbnett.
