When it is forbidden to go out, the parents’ weekend can sometimes turn to torture. The gift made by J.K Rowling could therefore offer a breath of fresh air to the millions of muggles (non-sorcerers) confined with their hyperactive children.

The Briton, author of the successful Harry Potter saga, launched a website in English this week ( “Harry Potter At Home” ) which offers interactive DIY videos, articles on the saga or even quizzes on the four main families of wizards (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw).

“For more than 20 years now, Hogwarts has been an escape for all of us, for fans and readers, young and old,” it is written on the home page of the site. “During this strange moment we are going through, we want to welcome you again to Hogwarts, where a friendly retirement awaits you, your family and those you care about.”

Audio book in French

This site allows you to discover or immerse yourself in the magical universe of this saga which has been the subject of seven volumes and eight films. J.K Rowling and his publishing house, Bloomsbury, have also made available the first volume in the series, Harry Potter at the Wizarding School, in digital format (in English).

The latter is also accessible free of charge in audio on the Audible platform in six languages (including French) . The story lasts no less than 8 hours and is told by the actor Bernard Giraudeau.

In late March, J.K. Rowling had already created an open license to allow teachers to post videos of reading Harry Potter books for their students. A magic wand already appreciated to bring Hogwarts home.
