‘Harry Potter’ leaves famous bookstore for rejection of JK Rowling – Music and Books – Culture

The debate on gender identity has put the British writer in the spotlight JK Rowling, who has been accused of being a transphobic for expressing on Twitter that ‘only women menstruate’.

Given this, the writer came out to explain her opinion and surprised with a statement in which she narrates that she was sexually assaulted.

But the controversy did not end there, as Left Bank, an American bookstore in the city of Saint Louis, Missouri, decided to remove Rowling’s books from their bookshelf.

In a statement, Jarek Steele, one of the owners of this bookstore, announced the news and gave explanations behind this decision, even though they “love Rowling” and have sold thousands of copies for the past 23 years.

“It is not as if we are not trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to understand and clarify her position. We love her. We loved her stories.
