“Harry Kane expresses interest in playing as a kicker in the NFL”

Harry Kane, captain and historic scorer of the English soccer team, said Wednesday that he would like to play as a kicker in the National Football League (NFL).

“It’s something I definitely want to explore. The NFL is something I’ve been following for about 10 years and it fascinates me, so I’d love to try it,” confessed the current Tottenham Hotspur player in the English Premier League.

Kane, who in the recent season scored 30 goals with his team, participated in the advertisement for the three games that the NFL will hold in England in the 2023 season, two of which will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; Jaguars-Bills, on October 8, and Ravens-Titans, on the 15th of the same month.

The other game will face the Falcons and Jaguars on October 1 at Wembley Stadium.

The 29-year-old Walthamstow-born striker acknowledged that a transition to American football would not be easy, but said he was willing to give it a try.

“I don’t expect to walk and suddenly start kicking field goals. I know it will require a lot of practice, a lot of hard work. But it’s definitely something I’d love to do,” reiterated the World Cup player in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022.

It is not the first time that the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner has expressed his desire to try his luck as a kicker in the NFL once his Premier League career ends.

In 2020 he spoke of approximately 10 years to fulfill his desire to play in the NFL. An approach that would place him around 35 years of age to try.

Last year Harry Kane was present at the game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a game in which he confessed his admiration for Tom Brady.

“I am definitely a Patriots fan because of Tom Brady, who I definitely respect and admire,” he shared at that game.
