Aimed at teenagers, but also parents, this chatbot unprecedented in France can become a precious help around the many questions surrounding this vast subject.

Harassment, revenge porn, webcam blackmail, phishing, … all subjects can be tackled without restraint, this conversational robot will not judge your words. Available on Net Ecoute official website, sure on the Facebook page and on Messenger, the e-Enfance chatbot is therefore intended to be a support platform.

The idea is to take care of young and old to guide them, inform them about issues of concern and good practices to adopt, or even refer them to an interlocutor on the Net Ecoute helpline on 0800 200,000.

Since the first confinement in March 2020, Net Ecoute has indeed reported an increase in calls (+ 44%) on its platform, a sign that families and adolescents are increasingly facing various problems related to screens. and for digital uses. This chatbot is intended mainly for young people, specifies the association e-Enfance which adds that the Net Ecoute platform is “the only alert system directly linked to social networks, the Pharos platforms of the National Police. , the Digital Brigade of the National Gendarmerie, and 119-Enfance en danger ”.

“Psychologists, lawyers and specialists in digital tools, trained in the protection of minors” take charge of the interlocutors, recalls e-Enfance, whose general manager Justine Atlan considers that it is “essential to offer young people the communication tools they need. ‘they love to encourage them to contact us ”.

For its part, the Facebook group joined forces with this approach in order to provide its various services. Thus, the social network Facebook and messenger messaging are already involved, while WhatsApp should welcome this chatbot in the coming months.

Recently, Facebook also launched the Connected Parents’ Club, which aims to open the debate and demonstrate pedagogy around “digital parenting”. This Tuesday, February 9, in order to support Safer Internet Day, the France Facebook page will also highlight dedicated content around digital uses and advice to support families.
