Harassment and sexism: Rocksteady management accused of inaction by employees – News

It has been many weeks now that the industry has been speaking out about harassment, sexism or even sexual assault. After Ubisoft, it is on the side of Rocksteady that all eyes are on, since an employee communicated to The Guardian a letter sent in November to the management of Rocksteady.

The Guardian thus teaches us that at the end of 2018, ten of the sixteen women employees at Rocksteady signed a letter denouncing transphobic insults, insulting and sexual remarks about women, inappropriate looks and unsolicited advances. But why is this letter appearing today? Quite simply because motivated by the changes implemented at Ubisoft, one of the signatories decided to communicate the contents of this letter, considering that nothing has changed since it was sent. According to the person concerned, the only thing done internally is to set up a one-hour training course on the subject.

I think one of the good things that can come from sharing this letter is that it shows the gaming industry that it doesn’t matter how big your company is and how much you say you promote diversity, though. you are ostrich, sooner or later it will be known, can we read from the signatory.

Rocksteady was quick to react, however.. The company does not dispute the sending of this letter, and indicates that it has accelerated on the subject of inclusiveness:

In 2018, we received a letter from some of our employees expressing various concerns, and we immediately took action to address the issues raised. Over the past two years we have listened to and learned from our employees, making sure everyone feels supported. In 2020, we are more than ever determined to develop an inclusive culture and we are determined to defend our staff.

Rocksteady is said to have already made progress on new measures to combat toxic behavior.
