harassed, the aggressor “wanted revenge”

The high school student, suspected of stabbing a student on Wednesday in the middle of a class in an establishment in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), was indicted for violence with a weapon and was placed under judicial control, according to the prosecution of Bobigny.

The victim out of danger

The 19-year-old was presented to an investigating judge on Friday at the end of his custody, which began on Wednesday, according to this source. He had been arrested in the Paul-Éluard high school by the anti-crime brigade (BAC), suspected of having stabbed another 16-year-old student in the middle of the classroom.

Touched in the abdomen, the victim was taken to hospital, but his life is not in danger, according to a police source.

The two high school students are educated in the same first technology class. According to parents of students, the attacker “wanted revenge” after being “the victim of harassment”. “He posted a video on the networks indicating that he was going to do battle,” said Eric Delion, a parent of a student.

“A milestone has again been crossed in the violence that takes place inside and which adds to the suffering at work that we have been denouncing for years”, regretted in the wake of the staff of the school, in a statement.

“Catastrophic” return

For Jérôme Martin, French teacher for six years in this establishment, episodes of violence are regular and “the return to school has been catastrophic”.

In April 2018, several hundred teachers and parents gathered on the forecourt of the school to “say stop to violence”. They demanded more human resources and “awareness” of the government.

This new attack comes a few days after a “March against oblivion, for youth and education” organized in Pantin, in the same department of Seine-Saint-Denis, in memory of a school principal who was committed suicide, but also of two high school students in Aubervilliers, Kewi and Djadje, killed in 2019 in brawls.
