Harapese’s big health scare: swollen face and awkward gait

In recent months, friends have been very worried about the dancer Vlastimil Harapes, because he kept to himself and was little in society. After a long time, however, he appeared in public and decided to honor the memory of director Maria Poledňáková, whom he remembered. However, his swollen face and awkward gait suggested he might be ill.

Many were surprised that Vlastimil Harapes did not attend the funeral of his late ex-wife Hana Zagorová, and were concerned about the ballet master’s health. Daily lightning previously reported that the dancer is not in the best health and hardly communicates. Harapes, on the other hand, attended the funeral of the director of the comedy S tebo me bavi svet Maria Poledňáková, with whom he was very close.

During the eulogy, it was apparent at first glance that the talented dancer’s face was swollen, which could indicate health problems. When the artist returned to the place after his words, he preferred to hold on to the side wall as he descended the steps, because he moved with a slight difficulty.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we listened to that beautiful speech. I don’t know what to add, I can only add a personal memory of director Poledňáková. She came to me at the National Theater and asked me if I wanted to become a ballet consultant for the film How to break the whale stool, that there will be a ballet setting,” Harapes began his eulogy.

“So of course I said yes and that I’d be happy to help. So we’ve met a few times and have already talked. Suddenly Marie had an idea and said, ‘What would you recommend someone to do, play it yourself, ‘ so I experienced for the first time that without rehearsal on camera, I had been cast in the role,” the dancer said at the funeral.

“But I once said, ‘Marie, you gave me… That maniac in the movie says he’s not friendly and he doesn’t like dogs, but I’m friendly and I like dogs,’ and that’s how this generation of children hated me to this day. So that’s how it ended, but it was great, “recalled the director’s ballet master, and finally borrowed the words of William Shakespeare and said goodbye to the mourners.

After him, the actor Pavel Nový also remembered the talented director and screenwriter and moved everyone present. Other unforgettable Czech actors such as Jiří Bartoška, Eva Holubová and Nela Boudová also appeared at the ceremony.
