Happy New Year! It’s been an eventful year, but 2021 has officially come to an end. It was a year full of sporting highlights and of course also the necessary lows, which we want to reflect on one more time.
2021 was the year of the first world title of Max Verstappen in Formula 1 and Nyck de Vries in Formula E. The year in which Jarno Opmeer won his second consecutive esports championship and Larry Ten Voorde triumphed in the Porsche Supercup. The year in which Richard Verschoor (Formula 2) and Rinus VeeKay (IndyCar) recorded their first victories and of course we must not forget Bent Viscaal, who achieved his first podium places in Formula 2. It was the year of the return of the Grand Prix van Zandvoort, of a lot of controversies, but above all it was a year with a fantastic and blood-curdling Formula 1 season.
