Hanwha solar power precedent… Support for 320 welfare facilities for 10 years

Hanwha Group announced on the 4th that it has completed the ‘2020 Happy Sunshine Campaign’ (photo), an eco-friendly social contribution activity that provides free solar power generation facilities to social welfare facilities across the country. The Happy Sunshine Campaign, launched in 2011, is a representative eco-friendly social contribution program of Hanwha Group that installs and donates photovoltaic power generation facilities to social welfare facilities for free.

Hanwha Group, which has been recruiting targets for support since October last year, finally selected 29 social welfare facilities that required solar power facility support through document screening and on-site inspection. By the end of last month, Hanwha Group installed solar power generation facilities with a total capacity of 173 kW (kilowatts) in 29 locations that were finally selected. With the capacity that 57 households can use, it is expected to contribute to reducing the management and operation costs of welfare facilities and to alleviate difficulties in cooling and heating in summer and winter.

Hanwha Group has installed 2187kW of photovoltaic power generation facilities for free in 320 social welfare facilities nationwide over the past 10 years. This corresponds to the amount of electricity that can be used by more than 720 households. It reduced 507 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and achieved the same effect as the drinking water effect of 910,000 pine trees. An official of Hanwha Group said, “Through the campaign, we will not only raise awareness of eco-friendly energy, but also help reduce operating costs and energy independence of social welfare facilities.”
