Hanna Öberg’s big revenge – won the sprint

Hanna Öberg was one of the fastest on the track in yesterday’s distance competition, but shot away completely on the shooting range.

In today’s sprint she succeeded with both parts.

She opened strongly and shot full in the first horizontal shot.

Hanna Öberg continued to walk fast in the tracks and before the last stand-up shoot she had a stroke position.

Then she shot both quickly, and above all fully.

– There I really get to the series that I want. I have good flow, control and work with every shot, says Hanna Öberg to SVT Sport.

“Glad I can bounce back”

After the flawless shooting and the fast ride, Öberg took over the lead from Anais Chevalier-Bouchet who also made an impressive run.

After the finish, there was a nervous wait for the rest of the starting field. Both Norwegian Marte Olsbu Röiseland and Swedish Mona Brorsson shot full in the first and were well on the track. But both shot away and after that no one could threaten Hanna Öberg who thus took great revenge after the miscalculation yesterday.

– It means so much. Glad I can bounce back this way. Now I know I’m where I’m supposed to be. It feels very good to turn a worse competition into a top race.

The victory was her sixth individual ever in the World Cup.

– It is so nice. I know I can do this so it’s nice to get it and that I get to show what I can do.

Several strong Swedish efforts

Elvira Öberg was again fastest in the track but after a boom in lying and one in standing, the chance for a podium place disappeared.

– I wanted to do a better job on the dike. I think I’m doing well but it’s a little frustrating with the ones. It is so close and so little that is required for a one to become a zero. You want to shoot full, says Elvira Öberg to SVT Sport.

Despite two obstacles, she finished in eighth place, just ahead of Linn Persson in ninth place.

In total, four Swedes finished in the top 20. Mona Brorsson finished in 18th place and Anna Magnusson in 20th place.
