Released in 2018 Solo: A Star Wars Story which, after a lot of fuss behind the scenes, flopped at the worldwide cinema ticket offices. Actor Alden Ehrenreich, who played the young Han Solo, thinks the film has been treated way too harshly by the media.
“Solo didn’t fare as well as other Star Wars movies, but still did well for a movie.” Ehrenreich told Total Film. “Even in high-level journalism, there is sometimes intense pressure to sacrifice or applaud something.”Think better about how we let ourselves be guided
The actor also used his criticism to point out to the media that they have a certain role and that they distance themselves too much from it. But readers should also know better how they deal with information obtained:
“And I think this is really terribly dangerous, especially when it comes to the things that really matter, like the state of the world. emotional response not. And I think we really need to step back and think a lot more about the way our emotions are managed by the stories we are inundated with. ”
Of course this goes much further than kicking a film into the ground by (highly regarded) media, but Ehrenreich certainly has a point. What information is still reliable today when even the biggest media agencies push “world news” without properly verifying it.
