Hamburg’s economy calls for prospects in the corona lockdown | NDR.de – news

Shortly before the federal and state governments decide on the further Corona timetable on Wednesday afternoon, Hamburg’s economy is increasing the pressure and calling for easing prospects.

“Don’t look too friendly,” was the instruction of a photographer when the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) handed over a catalog of demands to the economic authorities on Tuesday. After all, the situation is serious. The association demands that restaurants and hotels should be allowed to reopen as soon as possible, by Easter at the latest.

Hopes rest on rapid tests and outdoor catering

The Dehoga relies on events that could safely run through corona rapid tests. The federal government should bear the costs for this. The industry now needs a reliable statement in order to be able to plan. It is not possible to order food and drinks from suppliers at short notice, said Dehoga Vice President Niklaus Kaiser NDR 90.3. The warehouses are empty and supply chains have been reduced due to the lockdown. As was the case last summer, one of the industry’s hopes lies in outdoor catering.

IHK Nord calls for relaxation for tourism and trade

The affected companies can no longer wait for nationwide vaccinations, demands the North Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Nord). After the federal-state meeting on Wednesday, prospects for gradual easing for tourism and trade are urgently needed.
