After a knife attack in the Mümmelmannsberg housing estate in the Billstedt district of Hamburg, the police arrested a 29-year-old man. He is said to have attacked a 19-year-old on Thursday morning and inflicted life-threatening stab wounds on her.
The young woman was standing at a bus stop near the Mümmelmannsberg subway station on Kandinskyallee. Around 6:20 a.m., a man in a black hoodie is said to have stabbed the 19-year-old with a knife. She was critically injured. An ambulance took the woman to the hospital. She had to have emergency surgery.
Arrested in vocational school
At noon, the police reported the success of the investigation: Specialists from the homicide squad had arrested a 29-year-old man. He was caught in a vocational school in Ottensen and is due to appear before a magistrate on Friday. Evidence was secured during the search of the suspect and his apartment in Tonndorf.
