Had a salary of millions: Became homeless

Hannah Spearritt, former member of the world-famous British pop group S Club 7, reveals that she has been homeless for the past six months due to poor finances.

It must have gone so far that last Christmas she was homeless for a period. This despite the fact that she has a past as a superstar with an annual salary of millions.

Had to stay in the office

In the past six months, the singer has moved from address to address with her partner, Adam Thomas, and their two children aged three and four.

Spearritt reveals to the newspaper The Sun that one landlord kicked them out and gave the family just two days to find a new place to live.

– What ruined everything for us was that we didn’t have time to find another place to live. We had another place after Christmas, but we ran out of time before we could move in there, she told the newspaper.

With nowhere else to go, the family had to accept an offer from an acquaintance.

– We got to stay in our friend’s office, she says.

– It was stressful, but you deal with it, don’t you? Especially with the children in mind, she adds.

Made millions

Spearritt believes that the salary of S Club 7 was low compared to the money they actually earned. According to the newspaper, the band will have earned a staggering sum of 50 million pounds – over 600 million Norwegian kroner.

According to The Sun, Spearritt had an average annual salary of around £150,000 when she performed with S Club 7. That equates to just over NOK 1.8 million annually.

– People think we must all be millionaires, but unfortunately that is not true. It was what it was, and we enjoyed ourselves at the time, she says.

In 2018, Paul Cattermole, another member of the band, sold his Brit award for £66,000, which equates to just over NOK 800,000. He is said to have stated that he did it because he too “has bills to pay”, according to the report Sky News.

S Club 7 achieved great success from 1998 until they split up in 2003. They have since reunited to play tours across the UK.

Has struggled with health

Spearritt told the newspaper that in recent years she has struggled with mental and physical health problems. It has gone beyond the cafe venture that she and her partner have recently invested in.

– I had an illness that took it all out of me, and I hardly got out of bed for three months, she says.

– But so many people have had a hard time. I went through some things, but I don’t focus on the past. Last year was terrible, but this year is going to be good. Ultimately, we are still here and the cafe will open. We are looking forward to the future, she tells The Sun.
