The hackers exploited a vulnerability in the system of two “Binance” blockchains, which allowed the transfer of digital currencies between them.

Although, according to the company, in most “Binance” cryptocurrencies – BNB – is safe, the thieves would have got their hands on coins worth about 570 million dollars.

“Binance” reports that some of the funds have been frozen and that the hacker’s profit will likely not be as large as currently estimated.

“The problem has been understood. Your finances are safe. We apologize for the inconvenience and will report what happens next,” CEO Changpeng Zhao told CNBC on Friday.

This is yet another hacker attack this year.

“Delphi Businessit was recently reported that cryptocurrency thieves stole nearly two billion this yearS. It is likely that the hacking of “Binance” will also allow the collective damage caused by criminals to exceed the two billion mark.

Previous crimes have been very similar and experts are hoping that now that the “winter of cryptocurrencies” has arrived and the industry isn’t as big as before, cryptocurrency companies will start paying more attention to security.
