Gun thefts from cars are becoming more common in the United States. This was reported by The New York Times on Saturday.

In a country where guns are plentiful, where there are more guns than people, the increasing theft of guns from parked cars has become a new point of debate about gun control, the post continues. An analysis released in 2022 by a US organization that advocates stricter gun control shows that in 2020 about 40,000 guns were stolen from cars in 271 US cities. In some cities, organized groups of young people have even specialized in stealing guns from cars.
