Gulf cartel pantries coronavirus Tamaulipas

  • Alleged Gulf Cartel members hand out pantries for coronavirus
  • Authorities investigate alleged aid in Tamaulipas state
  • The distribution would have been made on Saturday in the municipality of Ciudad Victoria

Authorities in Tamaulipas inquire the alleged delivery of pantries with basic products to the population by organized crime (Gulf Cartel) in the midst of the coronavirus crisis (Covid-19), according to Agencia Reforma.

Sources police State and federal officials explained that the distribution would have been made on Saturday in the municipality of Ciudad Victoria and would have been set up by a group from the Gulf Cartel (CDG), the information began to circulate in different portals from Internet.

The delivery was broadcast on networks by accounts linked to the criminal group with photos in which people are observed collecting cardboard boxes from the chain of shops local GranD with the legend “Cartel del Golfo in support of Ciudad Victoria. Mr. 46 Cowboy ”.

The distribution of pantries and toys by drug trafficking in Tamaulipas was a common practice on special dates, such as Mother’s Day or Christmas, but in recent years it disappeared and now reappeared due to the coronavirus.

Informants point out that the practice seeks to win support from the population, but also to show strength to enemies.

Sources indicated that, although the case of the delivery of pantries by the coronavirus is being investigated, an assembly on the part of drug trafficking groups is not ruled out.

Yesterday they assured that “El Vaquero” or “El 46” is not a CDG operator in Ciudad Victoria, but in Matamoros, so the pantries would have been a challenge to the drug traffickers of the Capital of Tamaulipas, even to rival groups of the same cartel. .

The distribution, they added, would not have occurred in the urban area, but in retired or “invasion” areas, such as the Esfuerzo Popular neighborhood, which confirms that it would be a challenge for “El Vaquero”.

This is not the first time that this type of action has happened, as alleged members of the Gulf Cartel did when they delivered pantries in Tamaulipas, only now the excuse was the coronavirus, in previous years it was for the celebration of Christmas.

In December of last year, a drug trafficking cartel gave gifts to the civilian population on behalf of Nemesio Oseguera “El Mencho”.

The material circulates social networks and stands out for the way they were organized to give a present on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, and in it you can see that the gifts are from “El Mencho”, who is currently the leader of the Cartel from Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).

In the video you can see how, on behalf of “El Mencho”, alleged members of organized crime deliver bags with pantries to the civilian population.

On that occasion, members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel were present on a coast in the state of Jalisco to approach their inhabitants and deliver pantries that were printed with the message “Merry Christmas wishes you ‘The Lord of the Roosters’, El Mencho ‘”.

In the video tour you can see how they gave gifts to children and pantries to the elderly, all in the name of “El Mencho”.
