NEW YORK — New York City’s iconic St. Patrick’s Day parade returns in full force Friday, marching down Fifth Avenue for the 262nd time in its history.
Of course, New York City parades raise street closures and other questions. Here’s what you need to know.
When does the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade start?
The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. and runs until approximately 4:30 p.m. ET, although the live broadcast will run until 3:00 p.m. The route begins at Fifth Avenue in 44th Street and ends in 79th Street.
Anywhere along the stage is a great place to look, though if you want to be close to the action, it’s best to get there early. Sorry, no porta potties so please take care of that before you arrive. The parade does not have floats.
And no, you can’t march with your pet.
