Guadalajara. WIT Festival joins celebrations for the book capital

The WIT Spring 2022 Festival takes place from April 30 to May 8 and joins the celebrations of Guadalajara World Book Capital with various activities to promote reading, according to the coordinator of the meeting, Daniela Cordero.

“We have organized an expo-sale entitled Mexican Bibliographical Jewels, which includes unique books, first old collection editions and we will also have the staging of the monologue ‘HAMLET’, an adaptation of the classic text by William Shakespeare in the interpretation of Irene Azuela” Cordero detailed.

As part of the festival, the designer and multidisciplinary artist, Mauricio Lara, accompanied by the editor Jimena Acosta from Toronja Ediciones, Emiliano Godoy and Jis will present the book Mauricio Lara: A black ink story, which contains texts by Déborah Uranga and Jimena Acosta.

There will also be a collective exhibition of contemporary art UNM2 entitled Green Area(s) which has been curated by Joao Rodríguez and coordinated by Marco Valtierra. As a parallel activity to this exhibition, Alberto Ríos de la Rosa from the Wabi Foundation will give a talk on Art as a Catalyst.

At Vereda Bungalows, attendees will be able to enjoy the experience that comes from the daily meeting on the sidewalk. The Cañas gallery and the design studio, Tributo, the gastronomic proposals of Tercio Cocina and Calabrese participate in this initiative.

Under the name ‘In the Shadow’, various readings will be held under trees.
