Group of tourists in punishment in India: 500 times ‘sorry’ | Abroad

In India, a strict lockdown has been declared for 21 days. The foreign visitors, from Mexico, Israel, the US and Australia, were caught walking in the normally busy area. According to a police chief, they did not keep their distance.

Everyone in the group was given the remarkable task of having to write the same sentence five hundred times as a punishment. That should teach the hundreds of other foreigners still in the area a lesson, the spokesman added. According to him, tourists usually do not adhere to the lockdown rules, the Indian NDTV reports.

A video shows an agent having a discussion with one of the tourists. In the meantime, the others continue to write. “500 times. Understood?” the officer shouts.
