Three people appeared before the Grenoble court (Isère), Tuesday, March 9, 2021. They are accused of complicity in a vast fraud Isère CPAM (Health Insurance).
The harm would be 1.011 million euros, reports France Bleu, between 2014 and 2019.
197 fraudsters identified
Among the three defendants are a doctor and two activists from refugee support associations, aged 61 to 82.
They are accused of having given the benefit of the AME device (State medical aid) to 197 Algerian nationals, coming mainly from the regions of Annaba and Constantine.
This device is supposed to address undocumented people, allowing them all the same to receive care, if they have been present on French soil for more than three months.
However, among the 197 suspected fraudsters are an Algerian deputy from the FLN (National Liberation Front), which would have benefited from several thousand treatments, according to the CPAM.
Also in the sights are a notary who owns an apartment in Paris, doctors or even architects.
A dossier of 1,600 pages
The judgment did not take place Tuesday, March 9, 2021. An examining magistrate will soon be appointed to take over this compound file of 1,600 pages, before returning to the Grenoble judicial court.
