Grenoble Bar / Evelyne Tauleigne ends her mandate

Out of the ordinary because in just two years in office, the President of the Bar of Grenoble will have had to face, among other things, the reform of lawyers’ pensions and the Covid crisis. Professional secrecy and the limitation of the defense in a thousand words, also requested the attention of the President of the Bar at the end of his mandate, and should occupy part of the mandate of the successors: Jean-Yves Balestats (President) and Sylvia Rizzi (Vice President of the Bar ).

It is very moved that Evelyne Tauleigne retraced during this evening, the difficulties that she, the order, and the Grenoble bar had to overcome, but also the solutions and initiatives that were able to be found during the two last years. “I found myself in an emergency situation, having to make sometimes contradictory decisions” she assumed. But in the face of adversity, the forces were mobilized. Also, this mandate will be that of support for students in precariousness, the dematerialization of justice procedures … “The charge of the president, if it brings many joys, is also heavy with constraints and I have not been spared […] This mandate was atypical until the end but I do not regret. I knew the demanding function even if I did not imagine such a context ”.

Smiling as always, Evelyne Tauleigne, who when taking office had already referred to a humorous scene, did not fail to end her mandate in the same spirit, taking up the most famous monologue by Edouard Baer. “I don’t believe there is a good or a bad situation …”

Me Albane Miran is the 2021 laureate of the Abécassis prize, the eloquence competition of the Grenoble bar. The competition this year focused on the theme of defense immunity. Can it be undermined by breaches of professional secrecy? By the lack of means of justice?

Going back to the offense of hearing, she recalls in passing that it was not until the action of R. Badinter in 1982 to change the oath taken by lawyers when they entered the profession.
