Green Party Congress: Delegates vote for coalition agreement with CDU | NDR.de – News

Status: 06/27/2022 10:05 p.m

In the town hall in Neumünster, the delegates of the Greens voted in favor of the coalition agreement with the CDU by a large majority on Monday.

After a party congress debate lasting more than three hours, 112 delegates voted in favor of the negotiated coalition agreement. There were four votes against and five abstentions. This means that the new black-green state government can start work after the election of the prime minister next Wednesday. “You are great,” said top candidate Monika Heinold after the vote. “In turbulent times, our party wants to continue to bear political responsibility for Schleswig-Holstein. That is the central message of this evening,” the finance minister continued. The future Minister of Social Affairs, Aminata Touré, thanked the delegates for their trust and support. But Touré also said that she didn’t want to talk nice about the environment and agriculture ministries being separated again or that there was a commitment to the A20 in the coalition agreement. But the central question is what is the opposite. And those are five years in which the Greens are allowed to help shape it.

Heinold: “Good for our Schleswig-Holstein”

At the start of the party conference, top candidate Monika Heinold campaigned for approval. “We have a coalition agreement ahead of us that is not only green, but above all good for our Schleswig-Holstein and the future of our children and grandchildren,” said Heinold. Schleswig-Holstein will be a pioneer in climate protection. With three strong ministries you will be able to move a lot.

Green youth criticize the lack of climate protection goals

Representatives of the green youth practiced criticism in Neumünster. The measures adopted were not sufficient to achieve the climate protection goals. Aminata Touré said the CDU could have formed a coalition with any other party. It was a question of the alternative.

CDU votes for coalition agreement

A few hours earlier, the CDU also voted unanimously in Neumünster for the coalition agreement. The names of the designated CDU ministers of the new legislature were presented at the party conference beforehand.
