Greece introduces additional coronavirus restrictions

The government will oblige residents to wear highly protective masks in supermarkets, public transport and food service establishments.

The Greek authorities have decided to strengthen the quarantine restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic by two weeks. About this on Tuesday night, December 28, informed edition of The Guardian.

According to him, in order to contain the surge in the incidence of COVID-19 in the country, additional measures will be in force from January 3 to 16, which will affect mainly night entertainment establishments.

So, during this period, bars and restaurants will have to close at midnight, and the maximum number of visitors at a table should not exceed six people. In case of violations, the Ministry of Health threatens to ban music in such institutions.

In addition, attending sports events is limited to 10% of the capacity, but not more than 1000 people. Visitors to elderly care facilities will be allowed to visit patients if they can provide a negative PCR test within the previous 48 hours.

Also, the government will oblige residents to wear masks with a high level of protection in supermarkets, public transport and catering establishments.

Note that on Sunday, Greece recorded a record number of new cases of coronavirus and deaths against its background since the beginning of the pandemic – 9284 and 66, respectively.

As reported, since December 19, the Greek authorities tightened the rules of entry for tourists… In particular, the government introduced a requirement for all tourists to provide the result of PCR testing for coronavirus within 48 hours after entering the country.
