After three years, tennis player Tereza Martincová will play the quarterfinals at the WTA circuit.
On the clay court in Istanbul today, she defeated the French favorite Caroline Garcia, over the former world four she won in 70 minutes 6: 1, 6: 4.
The 25-year-old native of Prague played qualifying in the Turkish capital after an early elimination at the US Open and today took advantage of many of Garcia’s mistakes, which surprisingly sent home tournament number leader Karolína Plíšková in the second round of the New York grand slam a week ago.
