Graz area: blood donations are particularly important in the lockdown

Red Cross relies on solidarity to receive life-saving blood.

In order to be able to supply blood to people who need help most in the coming weeks with emergency medicine, the Red Cross in the district depends on the solidarity of the population.

Blood donors stay away

Due to the current situation, many blood donation appointments with company partners are no longer applicable due to home office regulations and stricter access restrictions. But also due to current Covid-19 protective measures, such as restricting social contacts, many blood donors stay away. Blood donation counts as a life-saving measure, and the blood donation campaigns of the Red Cross continue to take place (see dates below). “Come with people from your own household to donate blood, because solidarity connects”, the Red Cross asks for help.
