graphics modes and comparison with PS3

Demon’s Souls is probably the most anticipated PlayStation 5 launch game ever. Unlike Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, which is a cross-gen game and out on PS4 tomorrow, the 2009 remake of the eponymous game is a project dedicated exclusively to the next generation of consoles.

For such an important game, Digital Foundry’s John Linneman has prepared a monumental technical analysis lasting over an hour, which sees the participation of three developers from Bluepoint Games, including the Creative Director Gavin Moore. Together, they presented a extended comparison with the original for PS3 and explained how Demon’s Soul’s was ported to PS5, as they do two graphics engines to work in unison, what are the technical characteristics of PlayStation 5 that have been exploited, starting from theSSD for fast uploads, e how Cinematic and Performance modes work, with the first focusing on graphic quality (native 4K resolution at 30fps), and the second focusing on fluidity (60fps and native 1440p resolution upscaled to 4K). Speaking of the two graphic modes, you can see them in action side by side starting from minute 7:00 of the video attached at the top of this news.

Demon’s Souls, we recall, will accompany the launch of PlayStation 5 set for next November 19th. Pending publication, you can already consult the Demon’s Souls trophy list for PS5: for this new version of the game Bluepoint Games has decided to remove the most difficult trophies and add new ones.
