Reading wine instead of scooping, Oktoberfest in the beer garden instead of in a tent and Rock’n’Roll by far – with these and other great things the Lower Franconians can sweeten their weekend.
The sun will probably delight us again this weekend with its presence. This means perfect conditions for all those who decide on the spur of the moment to venture into the vineyards, finally to visit a concert again, to go on a trip to Bad Mergentheim or to get to know the Rhön from another side. You can find out what activities are behind this in our weekend tips.
Harvest your own grapes in Hammelburg
These days you can see them again, the winemakers among the vines. If you want to feel like a winemaker yourself, you can help with the harvest in Hammelburg at the “Weinwerk” estate. During the day in the vineyard, lay people not only learn how to harvest the grapes correctly, but also what the sun, soil and location mean for a good wine. After the work is done, there is a lot to learn about the fine wines in the wine cellar and the helpers can look over the shoulders of the wine maker while mashing. The winery is asking for registration for the dates on September 18th, 19th (postponed from last weekend), September 25th and 26th.
- When: Friday and Saturday
- Where: Hammelburg, vineyards of the “Weinwerk”
Main-Wiesn on the Jahnterassen
Is it possible to have a marquee atmosphere without a marquee and crowd? At the weekend, Oktoberfest fans can try it out in the Jahnterasse beer garden on Dreikronenstrasse in Würzburg. Directly on the Main, where the summer lounge of the organizer MannyGreen has established itself, the festival beer tapping will take place on September 18th. From Friday to Sunday traditional costumes are desired in the beer garden, beer tent hits are played and veal sausage and pretzels are served.
